Shoot out goal

At the end of their hockey practice, the kids often get a chance to practice a shoot-out. Grady scores in the video.

Walking

I think I can officially say that Hunter is walking now. He's about a week shy of 13 months and is consistently putting a bunch of steps together on a regular basis. He's excited about it and we are proud of him. It's so fun watching him learn such a major skill.

Strong start

Hunter had a lot of fun climbing all over these big foam blocks and practicing his walking!

Steps

Hunter has been taking a few steps here and there for about two weeks. He started at almost the exact same age as Grady (12.5 months).  So far, his "crawl" is a lot faster than walking. He'll take a few steps, we will all cheer, then he'll go down to crawling to get where he wants to go!

Grandma Liz and Papa Dave

Grandma and Papa are here visiting right now. They've been enjoying some special baby cuddles with Hunter.

Blocks

The boys have been really into blocks lately. It's nice because it's something fun they can play with together - and each still be at their own level. Grady builds towers and Hunter just tries to stick two together.

Playing at the park

We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, so I took the little ones to play at the park. They both love the swing. And today, for the first time, Hunter climbed up the entire play structure.

School work

Grady's reading and writing has improved quite a bit since starting grade one. There is still a ways to go, but it's so neat to watch him start to put his thoughts down on paper.

"I fed the goats and we fed the chicken and I went to the haunted barn and I picked a pumpkin".

"Bats have echolocation and have good hearing and .... And eat bugs and bats can eat one hundred bugs in snack time".

One sock, one shoe

Hunter has developed a new habit of promptly removing the shoe and sock on one foot whenever he gets a chance. It was funny at first but now that it's starting to get colder, I'm constantly having to put it back on!
