Kayaking with Grandma

On Sunday, we went kayaking with Grandma Liz. It was so much fun and the boys loved it. We just bought Grady his own kids sized kayak and Hunter came with me. We did have to battle the tide a bit, but managed to paddle across a little bay at the Spit. 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Easton's birthday

It finally stopped raining so we were able to play outside for a bit today. Hunter and I had fun playing with the chalk. He drew his first person! It's so cute. I was wishing it was on paper so I could have kept it. 

 
 
 

Father's Day

We had a very relaxing Father's Day with a nice lunch, some games, and a bike ride. Grandma and Papa came for lunch and then a rousing game of memory! It rained all afternoon but we managed to get out for a family bike ride with Stanley.  Before Sandy went out to roller hockey tonight, I snapped these two quick photos. Recorder

Grady brought home his recorder from school today. He's learned how to play "Hot cross buns" and practiced repeatedly this afternoon.  Hunter had to dig out his musical instrument to accompany Grady. What a treat! ;)

Fidget spinners

These little toys are all the rage right now. I held out for as long as possible (even encouraging Grady to build one out of lego!). But, he had his first job last weekend (cat sitting) where he made $20 and the first item to buy on his list was a fidget spinner. So, off we went to the store. Of course, Hunter needed one too. 

 

My trip to Calgary

I am in Calgary this weekend to spend time with Di, Jan, and the babies. It's been wonderful to have the opportunity to visit.

Baseball tournament

Grady played in a baseball tournament in Comox this weekend. His team won three of their games and lost one. Grady played second base, short stop, left field, and he even tried pitching! (One strike out). It was a fun weekend at the ball park. 

 
 
 

 

Complete focus

Hunter found this little dry erase workbook in the art cupboard and started "working" right away. We've been working on an at-home novel study project for Grady, so I think Hunter was happy to have his own task.
