Pumpkin carving

Last night we carved our pumpkin for Halloween. It was tons of fun ... although, I kept thinking about last year and how much Grady has grown-up and changed since then.

Halloween '09

This year...

Grady drew on his little pumpkin with markers, so that he could make it look however he wanted (notice how he holds the marker in his left hand - this happens all the time - future lefty?)

Cleaning out the big pumpkin.

(Grady has a long piece of toilet paper wrapped around his head. He fell off the couch and banged his head on the book shelf. It was bleeding a bit at the back and he really wanted a band-aid on it, so Sandy made him one out of toilet paper. It made Grady happy, so we left it on. His head is okay ... just a little goose egg and a small cut. I still woke him up twice last night to make sure he was alright!)

Digger

This was a rare moment in time that Grady sat and played with something for an extended period. He was so into using his digger to move the sand around.

He played for so long that he had to lay down in his sandbox!

There's not much action in this video, but I wanted to capture his focus and concentration.

Inside fun

We've had some extremely rainy days lately, so have been looking for some new ways to have fun inside the house. Grady loves this new game with a balloon:

Running down the road

At 2.5 years old, Grady is pretty much done with the stroller. We still go on our daily walks so that we can all get some exercise, but now he walks most of the time (sometimes these walks do end with me giving him a piggy-back ride). Although, today we walked for over an hour and he walked the whole way!

Jumping on the lines at the crosswalk.

A roadside treasure ...

perfect for hoola-hooping!

Dr. Grady

Auntie Heather came to visit us last weekend and she brought Grady a doctor's kit to play with. He has been having a lot of fun learning how to listen to a heart beat, check blood pressure, and look in his patient's ears. Ryder even had an opportunity to be a patient!

Giving Ryder his medicine.

Putting a band-aid on his arm.

Checking his ears.

What a happy doctor!
