Groceries

On Sunday morning, Hunter was sleeping and Grady was bored. I gave him our weekly grocery flyer and asked him to cut out what he thought we should get at the store. He had a lot of fun planning our shopping trip. And, when we went for groceries, we bought everything on his list except one thing .... So he did a pretty good job!

Sleepy baby

I have so many pictures of Hunter sleeping. (This is slightly ironic because he's not that great of a sleeper!) I think it's because he just looks so peaceful and precious when he's asleep. When he's awake, he's always moving around!

I love this comparison. I remember taking this newborn photo and everything I was feeling. His squishy little face is so sweet and he still very much resembles that brand new baby.

Happy 6 months Hunter!

Hunter is 6 months old! It's been an amazing six months watching Hunter grow and change every day. We had his six-month check-up with our family doctor this week. Hunter weighs 18.5 lbs. and is 28.5" long (90th percentile for weight and off the chart for length).

Unfortunately, Hunter has been sick for most of the past month. He keeps catching colds and has been dealing with a constantly runny nose and bad cough. I'm hoping the warmer Spring weather brings him a break from the cold germs. It's hard on everyone when he's suffering with a baby cold!

Hunter loves to roll over. As soon as I lay him down on the ground, he flips right over to his tummy and starts squirming around. He will often kick his feet really hard and move his arms at the same time. It looks like he is swimming in place. He's very good at spinning around in circles and has just started to figure out the army crawl. He's not consistent with it, but I'm still surprised to see the distance he can cover when he gets going.

We've been practicing sitting up as well. If he's well rested, he'll stay in a seated position for a while. But, if he's tired, he does a face plant pretty much right away.

I've started to give Hunter some solid food to play with. He's tasted a wide variety of different things so far: cucumber, broccoli, apple, pear, banana, carrots, curry cauliflower soup, pasta sauce, and avocado. I'm not sure if he's actually ingested any of them though. He mostly just moves the food around in his mouth a bit and then spits it out. He seemed to like the taste of cucumber and the soup. He made a really funny face when he tasted the banana and the avocado.

Other than his colds, our little Hunter continues to be a super happy baby who we all love tremendously. He gets a lot of special attention from our family and friends, and he makes us all so happy.

Happy baby!

When I place him on the floor, he rolls over onto his tummy right away. Can't miss out on a chance to practice his squirming around.

New skill ... sitting up!

Papa's soup

Papa Rob gave us some of his yummy homemade soup this weekend. It was pureed so Hunter tried it too! Grady was excited to have a chance to feed him. Hunter's facial expressions when he tasted it were pretty funny.

Happy Easter

Easter morning was a lot of fun for the boys. Hunter was interested in tearing into his little basket. Grady had so much fun looking for (and finding!) all of the Easter eggs.

Baby snuggles

Grady wanted to try carrying Hunter. It kind of worked but Grady needs to be a bit bigger for it to be safe! They both had fun with it for a moment though.

Cousins

We went to Gold River for the night to visit. Grady had so much fun playing with his cousins. We tried to take a good group picture ... I don't think there's one photo where they are all looking at the camera!

Going places

I'm not sure how Hunter does it, but he's starting to move around a bit on the floor. I lay him down in the middle of the carpet in the living room and came back to find him half under this chair! He was full of smiles and seemed very proud of himself. Guess we will be installing the baby gate sooner rather than later!

Such a boy

You might not be able to tell from these pictures, but Grady had been outside playing all day and was absolutely filthy ... Such a little boy!
